Cheyenne Mountain State Park invites public to ‘Trunk or Treat’ and ‘Haunted Hike’
[The following is based on a press release.]
The public, especially young ghosts and goblins is invited to a special “Trunk or Treat” event at Cheyenne Mountain State Park the evening of October 17, 2024, in an early celebration of Halloween.
“Trunk or Treat” events are like “Touch a Truck” with a Halloween theme. At “Trunk or Treat” events, various organizations assemble their trucks in a parking lot, decorate their vehicles and await children who visit to see them, collect candy and take photos.
The Cheyenne Mountain State Park event will feature CPW staff and vehicles as well as assorted local agencies including the Colorado Springs Fire Department, emergency medical technicians from AMR, staff from Fountain Creek Nature Center, the Colorado Springs Astronomical Society and more.
There will also be photo stations, a haunted trail and a craft station where participants can decorate tree cookies. The park also will provide hot chocolate to the first 100 attendees.
The event is scheduled for 5:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M. at the park’s Limekiln Parking Area. It is free for guests with a CPW vehicle park pass.
